Specimen Requirements

Urine, Random

Container: Leakproof plastic urine container

Specimen Collection: 10 mL (minimum 5 mL)

  1. Collect a random urine specimen.
  2. Aliquot 10 mL of a random urine specimen.
  3. Protect from light.
  4. Store and transport refrigerated.

Specimen Rejection

1. Specimens that have been at room temperature longer than 2 hours

Maximum Laboratory Time

24 hours

Specimen Transport/Stability
