Specimen Requirements

Whole Blood EDTA

Container: Lavender top tube (EDTA)

Specimen Collection: Fill tube to appropriate line; microcontainers must be filled to SECOND mark

1. Fill tube to appropriate line.
2. Prefer to receive specimen within 4 hours of collection at room temperature.
3. Refrigerated specimens (kept at 2-8° C) are acceptable for testing for up to 24 hours. The sample must be allowed to come to room temperature for approximately 15 minutes before testing.
