Umbilical Cord
Container: Clean Container
Specimen Collection:
- Bring umbilical cord to laboratory on ice in a clean container immediately upon collection.
- Include label with patients name, mothers name, gender, time of birth, and ordering provider with specimen.
Specimen Transport/Stability
Transport to lab immediately upon collection.
Maximum Laboratory Time
60 minutes
