Container: Clean Container

Specimen Collection:

  1. Bring umbilical cord to laboratory on ice in a clean container immediately upon collection. 
  2. Include label with patients name, mothers name, gender, time of birth, and ordering provider with specimen.

Specimen Transport/Stability

Transport to lab immediately upon collection.
