EDTA Plasma
Container: Lavender top tube EDTA
Specimen Collection: 1 mL (minimum 0.5 mL)
- Separate plasma from cells within 4 hours of collection, place in separate plastic tube and cap immediately.
- If testing cannot be performed within this time, centrifuge and aliquot plasma into plastic vial. Freeze (-20 Celsius) for up to 3 months.
- Properly label with patient's name, DOB, requisition number and type of tube sample drawn from i.e. EDTA Plasma.
