Container: CSF leakproof sterile tube

Specimen Collection: 1.0 mL (minimum 0.2 mL)

 

  1. Separate promptly from cells.
  2. Store and transport refrigerated.

Specimen Transport/Stability

Refrigerated: 6 days if separated from cells

Specimen Rejection

1. Specimen with cells

2. Hemolyzed specimen

Maximum Laboratory Time

24 to 48 hours
